Great article on the countrysides part in helping deliver our energy needs
Our micro generation turbine application has been refused again on ‘landscape’ grounds despite significant screening and mitigation.
Seems the new green farm dream is more difficult than we first imagined…..! As an ex employee of CPRE I believe in a living and working countryside and will continue to push for sustainable enterprise that will allow us to manage our beautiful landscape and earn a living in this rural location.
It is us as landowners that have the power to help produce the energy needed to meet our ever growing demands……why can’t farmers be energy as well as food producers?!
Without change and investment, the countryside will die on its feet

Despite adverse weather earlier in December, a successful open day was held at Mulino Lodge near Kniveton. The weather affected attendance, however the event went ahead and raised £203.22 for the Myotonic Dystrophy Support Group.
The open day was held to inform people about the plans for a new and more sustainable farm at the site, which the young owners are working hard to restore. “It was a shame the weather wasn’t in our favour, but we had a great afternoon and made the most of the snow whilst raising over £200 for a very worthwhile cause” stated Craig Barks.
“We would like to thank all those who gave so generously, both on the day and with raffle prizes in advance. Particular thanks go to Derby Live for donating pantomine tickets and the Heights of Abraham for a family pass” adds Catherine Webster.
